Windshield OEM Toyota or Pilkington

You are totally good with Pilkington glass though I had Safelite replace my old Jetta with that brand and it’s as good if not better than OEM glass.

After our OEM windshield was demolished, it was replaced with Pilkington auto glass. And that Pilkington glass is FAR superior to OEM Subaru glass!

I have an aftermarket pinketon glass on another car. Frankly, on that car, it seemed more durable than the factory glass.

No problem w replaced our 4th with a Pilkington! The first 3 with OEM - big mistake x 3. The last was a Pilkington and it’s lasted many times longer than the other 3 OEMs combined. We also think it’s taken some hits that would have definitely shattered an OEM.

I replaced my cracked windshield with OEE glass, which was Pilkington EZ Kool. The shop recalibrated my camera for the pre-collision assist, and it's functioned like normal.

When I broke mine the repair shop installed "yesglass" It's a Pilkington brand, but worse on paper.

Has anyone noticed anything about the quality of pilk glass did a 2020 Honda odyssey that had 2 replacements done on it within 2 weeks originally had a pilk part in it with distortion on the passenger side top so bad that it threw the camera off so much it wouldn’t pass a static recalibration, threw oem in it and no issues on static or dynamic.

2024 Toyotas seem to have very weak windshields. My 4Runner is less than a year old. In the past 4 months I have gotten Four windshield cracks from rock chips. It seems the windshields are poor quality glass.

My 2024 RAV4 did the same thing.
