The last was a Pilkington and has lasted twice as long as all the OEM combined!
Go aftermarket. Pilkington if you have a choice, but any aftermarket will likely be better than OEM (Carlex). Zero issues with eyesight.
2022 Accord came to $1,500 for OEM glass through Safelite. They did great work on the windshield and calibration.
For manufacturers, Pilkington and PGW (Pittsburgh Glass Works) make the best.
Aftermarket all the way. It's more durable than OEM. If you have an option, Pilkington seems to be the best through various user reports. I went through 3 replacements with my '19 Legacy and aftermarket is definitely better.
Do not replace your windshield with Factory Glass. Get aftermarket glass, preferably Pilkington Glass.
I have had pilkington glass before and they are a decent piece of glass, but not nearly as strong a Sekurit.
Mine cracked, waited 6 months for the windshiled to come in. Finally got it fixed. A week later it cracked again from a small rock. Just got it fixed again and now theres a small chip in it. The 23 HRV is so cheap i dont care to get it fixed anymore.
One morning I just saw a big crack on top windshield. I don’t know how it happen. Maybe it was a small crack before and then it just expand as the time goes by. It must be the design flaw of the windshield.
MINE IS AT 1500 miles and I have two TINY specks maybe even 3 on my windshield and NOTHING ever hit me
