I had my windshield replaced about 6 months ago with safelite and I did it all through the geico app. They used Pilkington glass which while not oem is great quality.

Pros: great quality

Pilkington Windshield

Your (and my) Range Rover windshield is manufactured by Pilkington. Your glass installer can buy the exact same glass direct from Pilkington for less than half the price. The only difference is that Pilkinton will etch off the Range Rover tag in the corner and put their own name on.

Pros: less than half price
Cons: minor defects possible
Vehicle: Rover

Safelite can do replacement. LR shop referred me to them. Pilkington, Optikal, Laminated… This is what LR said was OEM or equivalent. Was $1,200 with heating elements. This cracked recently after 7 years.

Pros: OEM or equivalent
Cons: wires can be blinding
Vehicle: Land Rover

Good luck in this, had a 2018 Accord and had a "cheaper" windshield installed and it never calibrated/worked correctly. went and got the factory 3x the price and calibrated and all is good.

Pros: calibrated and all good
Cons: never calibrated/worked correctly
Vehicle: Honda Accord

I bought my truck with a few thousand miles on it and someone had replaced the windshield with a Pilkington brand. It had a terrible flaw in the laminate in front of the HUD. It looked terrible.

Cons: terrible flaw in laminate

Bro I have bad news for you, forget about ten years from now, *they don't even support the car today*. I brought it to my Honda dealership where I bought it for a cracked windshield and they turned me away and said they cant do windshields on it.

Cons: dealership doesn't support windshields
Vehicle: Honda

I paid out of pocket for aftermarket glass from Safelite instead of the OEM, got Pilkington glass. The glass had a bad warp right in my line of sight and I had to get it replaced under warranty. The replacement also had warping, but over in the corners, so not too bad. Heated wiper bed and heads up display worked fine though.

Pros: heated wiper bed worked, HUD worked
Cons: bad warp in line of sight, replacement warped
Vehicle: Toyota
