Have a prestige trim 9.5 S5 and wear polarized sunglasses 99.9% of the time I get in the car and they\u2019ve never caused any issues with legibility for the HUD.
My suggestion is to put in a claim to your insurance company and insist on a replacement with a genuine Honda OEM, (Original Equipment Manufacture), windshield.
So, an hour and a half later I was out the door with a brand new Audi OEM windshield and ADAS calibration for $66.92, which was the price of a new set of wiper blades, totally optional.
My previous Accord coupe had its original windshield replaced with an aftermarket one after a minor collision. The car's camera for lane departure and collision avoidance wouldn't work properly with the aftermarket windshield, even after calibration. A Honda Service Bulletin confirmed the need for genuine Honda OEM windshields. After replacing the aftermarket one with a genuine OEM Honda windshield, and calibrating the camera, the driver assist warnings worked perfectly. I insist on a genuine Honda OEM windshield!
My 2019 EXL windshield got replaced 3 yrs ago with aftermarket glass and not a problem at all. And it cost me on $400 everything working fine.
Good luck in this, had a 2018 Accord and had a "cheaper" windshield installed and it never calibrated/worked correctly. went and got the factory 3x the price and calibrated and all is good.
There is a significant difference in quality of the glass itself. OEM vs non. I routinely see cars that come through with non oem glass that will just not calibrate after replacement.
Bro I have bad news for you, forget about ten years from now, *they don't even support the car today*. I brought it to my Honda dealership where I bought it for a cracked windshield and they turned me away and said they cant do windshields on it.
the OEM wind shield on my 2023 ridgeline is the worst of any car I have had. In the first year I had 4 minor chips and one large chip that spread all across the window.
I had OEM glass just installed in a Honda and it has a mean distortion towards the far passenger side edge. Luckily it’s not in my line of sight and I can live with it. But yeah, even OEM sucks. I feel like overall quality has gone down on glass. The replacement glass got a chip in it two weeks later (got it filled).
