I brought in my 2019 Audi A7 for an alternator recall. The car has 40k miles on it. While the car was in they found the water pump was leaking and said they replaced it under warranty along with the alternator.
Currently own a ‘15 S3 with 130k+ miles. Nothing really major to report for me outside of some known common issues with this generation (water pump, PODS, etc). Car has been great and honestly easy to maintain if you can DIY oil changes, brakes, and DSG fluid changes.
I quite enjoyed our 2.7t, it was stock and trouble free for all 200,000km. Not a single coilpack, turbo, nothing, oil changes and a timing belt/water pump service at 160,000km.
The all metal pierburg water pumps last longer than the plastic ones.
Water pump went out on two of mine around 100k.
My b9 has had 0 problems except water pump, 110k
It was the water pump in my case, thankfully under warranty.
I recently had to have my water pump replaced. I had the vehicle diagnosed at the dealer and then had an indie mechanic do the work. Saved me a bunch of cash. Mine wasn’t overheating, but it had leaked coolant into the vacuum system which caused my turbo to not build enough boost.
I had this happen 200 miles from home. $7 a mile to have it towed home.
Just happened on my rs6 a few months ago. Dealership even had the part in stock because this is common enough. 2 days in the shop. Had to have the car towed. Engine temp would climb evey time I hit the gas.
