Water pump you will want to raise the engine to gain access to the water pump. I suggest you use a metal impeller replacement and not a plastic one like the factory original.
I usually end up with Gates or AC Delco.
Can't go wrong with a Gates pump.
Waterpump leaking at 120km Belt was like new.
I only use gates kits on any HDI I work on. Out around 30 fitted to friends and family cars I had one water pump bearing fail after 4 months they changed it with no issues but as it was a home fit not garage no labour cost offered no other issues.
Did hear Gates did have a bad batch of 2.0 Blue HDI OEM water pumps with impellers coming loose
I use the aisin kit or oem honda. I’ve had the tensioners in the dayco kits fail, and the water pumps in the gates kits fail
I have no idea how there isn't a class action against VW for those shoddy waterpumps tho. Had to do it on my one and literally every VW owner I've spoken to has had it be a problem
Mines literally the same story as yours. It’s leaking out the weephole after about a month, less than 1500kms install. Their warranty claim procedure looks as complicated as it can get too
It’s a garbage unit, mine started to weep out from the hole after less than 1500kms. Warranty claim seems extra complicated to deter people from using it too
My GTI’s water pump shat itself around 60k kilometres too :( going strong since but it’s a very common fault unfortunately
