Tires YOKOHAMA or Nokia

YOKOHAMA Tires

Knocked back a PB at both track events on these. At VIR last weekend they were great. Very predictable and tons of grip. Shot for 34-ish hot. -2.7 camber up front. Turned on reasonably quick on out lap. I rotate each day (front to back, back to front cross). Would recommend 10/10.

Pros: predictable, tons of grip

I’ve had 22” Nokians on my R1S for 8,000 miles, and noticed no difference in efficiency. I *have* noticed (as have others) that they have significantly more tread than the stock Pirellis at this same point. Given their cost, any increase in “fuel” costs due to worse efficiency (if that is a thing) will probably be more than made up for by the lower cost of the tires, and the (likely) longer useable life.

Pros: no efficiency difference, more tread, lower cost, longer life
Mileage: 12875 km

I had some Yokohama Geolandar at/4s on my xterra and tundra and I love(d) them. They still give the look while keeping the noise down in my expirience .

Pros: good look, low noise

Nokian seasonproof 2 are way to go, nokian is quieter and pattern on them are unique they have central canals for aqualpaning like summer tyres and the treads like winter tyres. I've never seen this before on any allseason tyre brend.

Pros: quieter, unique pattern, good aquaplaning

I live in a ski town BC, that averages >30 FEET of snowfall annually. Often roads have caked snow, sluff, sleet & ice. Between dodging tourists, wildlife and staying firmy lodged, I don't dick around. I get the best. Studded Hakka's 10, that just replaced a set that I had about 30-35,000km on.

Pros: best studded tyres
Mileage: 35000 km

2019 stock tires sounded and handled great but were soft and didn't last long. I was buying new before 35K.

Pros: sounded and handled great
Cons: soft, didn't last long
Mileage: 35000 km

I have less than 25K on these tires. The tread is greater than 8/32 and I thought the cracking was part of the tread pattern. Then I noticed the tire was starting to flake apart on the tread.

I just had them replaced. I paid $800 for these tires 3 years ago. When they were sold to me they were already 1 year old. I called Nokian and they helped me find a shop that would support the warranty. The shop I bought them from would not provide any warranty support at all. This is also the shop that convinced me Nokian are good tires. I wish I had known. So frustrated that I just spend another bucket of money after 25k miles.

Pros: Nokian helped find warranty
Cons: tires flaking apart
Mileage: 40233 km
