Tires Uniroyal or OEM Toyota

I drive a Prius and it handles fine in winter. Although it burns more fuel during winter because of the heating. Only thing I would strongly suggest is getting a quality set of winter tires. Only time it struggled was getting up that steep incline on King Edward after Rideau on glare ice..during rush hour. I still made it just fine while other gas powered cars were spinning their wheels.

Tires: uniroyaal sport Rain.

GM used to put Uniroyal Tiger Paws on their trucks, and I don't know what the number was, but it must've been high because those damn tires last forever and still looked brand new. I think I finally tossed them at 120K miles.

I know TCL hates them, but I think the Uniroyal Tiger Paw is a good tire for the money. It's not high performance, but they are adequate, quiet, and can realistically last the 70k miles for which they are rated.

I have no experience with Tiger Paw tires but the Uniroyal Rain Sport 3 is one of the best tires I've driven.

I picked up some uniroyal winter snow and ice II. On the cheaper side, made by Michelin. I ran them before on my BMW 325xi. Never had an issue. I would think the same for our tiguan is 4 motion.

We've just been through the worst winter in many years and our matrix has done very well with the factory tires. If you're not going off road fwd is fine. The deepest unplowed snow I drove through was about 8 inches and I felt like that was pushing it.
