Tires Toyo or Nokia

Toyo Tires

I commute to DIA from the Springs a LOT, and I have the AT3s. Great tire, lightweight enough to preserve MPGs, but still does well in snow. Plus they still look pretty good. Had them 20k miles now and they're still in great shape.

Pros: great tire, lightweight
Mileage: 32186 km

Nokia Tires

I went with Pirelli Cinturato Winter 2 -- they're decent.

Have had Hakkas on three prior vehicles as they've been my go to for years. Fantastic tires! Wanted them on the S3 but when I saw them in store I was shocked by the softness of the compound and was worried about treadwear.

Pros: fantastic tires
Cons: softness of the compound

Nokia Tires

Nokian Hakkapellitas if you've got the budget for them.

Blizzaks never failed me on my FWD Volvo V70 in the Rocky Mountains. Made it up Wolf Creek Pass in February through at least a foot of snow

Pros: got the budget

Nokia Tires

I have Nokian WRG5s on mine. The first set lasted 89,000 km - right to what they were supposed to. The new ones are rated good until 100,000. I've only got about 15,000km on these ones so too early to tell but tread depth is good.

Pros: good tread depth
Cons: lose some range
Vehicle: Hyundai
Mileage: 15000 km

Pros: last a long time
Cons: upper end of price
Mileage: 100000 km

Rating 4.0

As for the ride, it is very quiet and more comfortable with the larger sidewall vs the 22. The road noise is about the same as the OEM, which is good as I moved to a more aggressive AT tread, which I expected to be louder. It is surprisingly quiet.

Pros: very quiet, more comfortable
Cons: acceleration a bit slower

No but I’ve had the Toyo M/T’s. Both started cracking in between the treads after 2 years. The Road Noise was low.

Pros: low road noise
Cons: cracking after 2 years

15,000 KM after three blowouts. Changed them for some Toyo proxes tm1 225/45R18. So far so good, the ride feels way smoother and I don’t feel like I lost fuel economy.

Pros: smoother ride, good economy
Cons: three blowouts
Mileage: 15000 km
