Tires Toyo or Continental

Continental Tires

I'm running Continental PureContacts which are an all season touring tire on the mk4. In rain they grip like a bitch. In icy conditions they grip like a bitch. In loose dirt, decomposed granite etc etc they grip like a bitch. They are phenomenal

Pros: phenomenal grip, great in rain

I just installed the P7 Cinturato on mine a few days ago (235 45 18). They ride nice and handled the rain well. I had Continental PureContact w/Eco Plus for the last 40k. Those were excellent and still had 4/32 - 5/32.

Pros: ride nice, handled rain
Mileage: 40000 km

Toyo Tires

I bought [Toyo Observe GSi5](http://www.toyotires.ca/tire/pattern/observe-gsi5) for my car, I've no problems with them after three winters, driven country roads without slippage either.

Pros: no problems, no slippage

I have these on my TDI for about 1 year now. I like them They didn't affect my MPG as I still get 41 MPG and the road noise is minimal. I too live in the Seattle region and have made multiple trip to Vegas and Salt Lake and the tires held up well. Glad I did, I feel that I have confidant cornering and good braking abilities with low road noise.

Pros: confidant cornering, good braking
Cons: none
Vehicle: Audi A3

Continental Tires

As for tires, I'd absolutely recommend against getting Conti DW's. I got them to replace Michelin PSS' mainly because they were cheaper and I thought the drop off in performance wouldn't be as significant as the price difference but it is...Very significant. For a chill family car, DW's are great..for any kind of performance driving, they just aren't good enough. Traction is ok but the sidewalls are very soft and I could feel them rolling and giving away at the track.

Pros: great for family car
Cons: soft sidewalls, poor traction
