Tires Nokia or Maxxis

Nokia Tires

The compound in a decent snow tire like a Nokian, Michelin, Blizzak, etc… stays less form in cold weather and will stop better in the winter.

Pros: better stopping power

Maxxis Tires

I ride on a DHR2 rear in DD casing and MaxxTerra compound, and an Assegai front in EXO+ MaxxGrip. Really good combo for the descents but a little bit slow on the climbs.

Pros: good for descents
Cons: slow on climbs

Maxxis Tires

The Maxxis Ikon in dual compound would be a good choice. It won't have great grip on wet roots or rocks, but sounds like that's not a concern.

Pros: good choice
Cons: not great wet grip

Maxxis Tires

Something like a maxxis ikon should roll great on the road and still work on trails.

Pros: roll great on road
Cons: null

Nokia Tires

Winter tires are best in class, their Hakkapeliitta 10 and R3/R5 line is the best in the world right now, their summer tires are very good, up there with the high-end brands maybe not as good as top-end Michelin or Continentals but still very good.

Pros: winter tires best in class
Cons: summer tires not top-end

Nokia Tires

I use Nokian Hakkapelliita R3 winter tires in the winter (in Michigan) and they've worked great.

I previously tried Michelin CrossClimate2 tires, but they didn't provide quite enough snow traction. On packed, compacted snow, I could feel the car just barely sliding if I changed lanes, and I occasionally felt the ABS when braking. With the Nokian winter tires, I never feel either of those phenomena.

Pros: worked great, no sliding
Cons: Michelin not enough traction

Nokia Tires

I had Nokian WRG2s on my Subaru and loved them. I run blizzaks on my truck now and find them to be better than the nokians were.

Pros: loved them
Cons: Blizzaks are better
Vehicle: Subaru

Maxxis Tires

They are nice tires that roll really well. Mud and other soft ground can be an issue with the low tread and cornering can be a bit iffy with minuscule side knobs and rounded profile.

Pros: roll really well
Cons: iffy cornering, soft ground

Maxxis Tires

My maxxis tires usually last max 350miles in rear. My last dissector neede to be ditched after ~150-200 miles since knobs ripped apart.

Mileage: 350 km
