For my winter set I'm using the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 (205/55/r16) and while not as good in the snow as the Conti WinterContact, they handle amazingly in wet conditions (we get quite a bit of rain) and are relatively silent and good on fuel.

Pros: handle amazingly in wet
Cons: not as good in snow

Rating 4.5

Nexen like all brands make different levels of tires. If you decide to buy the cheap ones your results will be indeed be bad. I bought a nicer tire that they make and have had no issues with them. It's actually the best ride quality I've had in my car. They drive better than Dunlop and Pirrelli P-Zero I had in the past.

Pros: best ride quality
Cons: cheap ones bad

BRIDGESTONE Tires

The Bridgestone is going to be faster. The nankang would probably wear a little bit better call and is more heat tolerant. But not as fast when cold, and also heavier. If you were happy with the Bridgestone I would have to say probably stay there

Pros: more heat tolerant
Cons: not as fast when cold

BRIDGESTONE Tires

I remember going hot into a turn, getting on the brakes, and sliding sideways with no warning. It wasn't that fast, but still a bit disturbing. I replaced them this year with a much newer set of S04 PP.

Cons: sliding sideways with no warning
Vehicle: Porsche
