I run Michelin X-Ice on my stock 17" wheels.
I've had very good luck when I have michelins on the car. Much better grip/wear/noise than the factory goodyears.
Michelin is better than Pirelli IMHO. I've had Michelin PSS tires on my Audi and they are great performers.
Tire technology keeps getting better and better, I guess the new Michelin PSS vs the old Pilot Sports is a good example. Better grip + better tire life, who could ask for more?
I've gotten close to 40k out of a set of PSS.
I'm guessing I'll probably be able to get about 25k miles out of my PSS.
OP said: semi-slick Michelin Sport Cup 2
BMW road force balanced them and they were perfect... my savings were about $750 after getting them to do the balancing.
It's amazing how much better your car feels with good tires.
i had toyo proxy 4's on my wheels. were barely stretched though but they arent too bad from what I've seen.
