Tires MICHELIN or Pirelli

MICHELIN Tires

Mainer with a 200 here. I actually run Michelin Defender LTX M/S2s on mine year round. M/S = mud & snow.\n\nThey\u2019ve performed really admirably for me in pretty brutal winter conditions we get up here.

Pros: admirable winter performance

We have a 2019 Atlas FWD that is plenty capable for Northern Midwest Winters and last year I put on a set of Michelin CrossClimate2's which really will amp up its capability in snow. I have CC2's on my Jetta and it really has been great, not a ton of deep snow experience with the Atlas with them yet but no concerns.

Pros: amps up capability in snow
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I'm using Michelin Primacy SUV+. Tahimik naman yung tires, compared to my previous Yokohama Geolandars. May mga road surface nga lang talaga na di kaya patahimikin but these tires are definitely in the quiet side.

Pros: tahimik yung tires
Cons: road surface effect

I installed cross climate 3 sport on my MYLR 2023 2 months ago. Did an euro trip on them (7000km or about 5000 miles). No problem whatsoever, and I did encounter a few snowstorms in the Alps. They're really quiet and perform awesomely in both dry and snow.

Pros: quiet, awesome performance
Cons: null
Mileage: 7000 km

I had the CC2’s on my Explorer, to replace the OEM tires. They handle great, and are excellent in the snow, but they were very loud, and got louder as they wore, I also noticed a significant reduction in gas mileage, 15-20% depending on season. I eventually swapped them for what is essentially the Pirelli version of the same tire. They are called the Scorpion WeatherActive and were far and away better than the Michelins on my vehicle. Gas mileage went back to normal and they were much quieter.

Pros: handle great, excellent snow
Cons: very loud, mileage reduction

Pirelli Tires

Whatever the repair costs add on a set of new Michelin pilot sport 4s as pirellis are god awful in the rain. Had my car hydroplane in 50 degree medium rain weather in P zeros.

Cons: hydroplane in rain

ripped the brand new OEM tires off my 22 EUV maybe 30 days after I took delivery, put on a set of Cross Climate 2's

That was about 56,000 miles ago, probably buying another set of CC2's early next year.

It could be 80F outside with damp asphalt and the OEM tires would struggle for grip, they are that bad.

Pros: better grip
Cons: struggle for grip, bad
Mileage: 90123 km
