i love my Michelin Defender 2, they aren't the sportiest of tires, but darn are they great GT tires (decent economy) and have decent tread for dirt roads. Only down side is that tread does have the tendency to grab on to the smaller rocks that jettison off later down the road once you hit black top.
Michelin pilot road 6; you won't regret it.
I have the factory Michellin E. Primacy on my highland RWD and quite impressed. A good all round balance of wet and dry grip and efficiency. Not too far off the PS5 I had on my old car but I wouldn't track with them. Good enough to have confidence on the road though.
I have them on my model 3. I think they are a tad quieter but small efficiency loss noticed. I mean minuscule. Have about 1200mi on them but enjoy it so far.
I recently put them on my model 3 and I am happy so far. Seems comparable to michelin mxm4 oems on noise. There is more tread so they should last longer and my calibrated butt dyno suggests a bit more grip.
Small penalty on range, but it’s close enough where i’m not totally sure yet.
I wouldn’t hesitate getting the Michelin LT ATX tires, I am of the opinion that it is a better tire than the defender line.
I run Michelin X-Ice's in the winter and they are dynamite. Way better traction than the scorpions in snow, slush, and ice.
Based on store inventory and ratings, I’m going with Michelin CrossClimate2 since they are available today.
All seasons are deceptive. Not *bad* in the snow but you’ll see on most of them “light powder” conditions - meaning anything other than a quick flurry will undermine performance. Get these + snow tires and swap during the winter or get a better tire rated for snow like Michelin Crossclimates or Nokian WR G4s.
Made a customer cry because she couldn't afford tires for her car. University student, leased a Honda Civic but got the Sport Package which included 18" wheels with 235/45R18, and it came with a set of winter wheels/tires with Michelines.
