After much searching, I replaced my worn tires with the original MXM4. Pricey yes, but they are excellent tires and worth the extra dollars for the extra range (independently verified).
I have had the old pilot sports and the new pilots … only regret is they never break traction . Absolutely the best tires in the market .
Michelin's X-ice's are pretty competitive.
I had Pilot sport as3 a few years back but got as4 when I got my new wheels and they’re good. They’re able to keep the power down, some wheel spin in second, with my new build that makes 655 to the wheels.
I’ve had both on my 2016. The biggest difference I noticed immediately after switching from the dws06 to the pilot sports is the road noise. The Michelin’s are much quieter and overall have been the best tires I’ve ever owned.
I have been driving for about a month on Michelin Defenders (21"; purchased/installed at Costco) and will never go back to the Pirellis. Quieter for road travel, good handling, minimal difference in range
I ran the Michelins for 8 winters here in BC. They are an excellent tire. Good in rain, snow and ice (ice performance degraded after about the third season).
I moved from the continental EV tires to Michelin cross contact and had about a 10% increase in consumption… part due to tires part due to how much better they felt and I pushed more
I have them on my Lexus ES300h and drove with them coast-to-coast across the entirety of Canada in the dead of winter, then back again in the summer. I found them to be really great performers in winter, even in nearly tire-high snow, and I never had a moment where I was worried about slipping or sliding, even through the Rockies in white-out conditions. HOWEVER... I find them to be too noisy in the summer. I can see the fuel efficiency drop on road trips in the summer as well, and I'm not sure I'd run them year-round again knowing what I know now.
I had a noise that was resolved with a tie rod. I had to go to their approved shops! First shop tried to charge 5,000$ for all things I didn’t need, they denied everything but a motor mount. Next shop inflated all prices and labor. Estimate was 2500$ Endurance covered 630$ of a 930$ bill. I had to pay 287$ to get car out of there! Off to Pep Boys for tires they denied that claim as well. They told me basically I don’t take care of my car my tires were bald. I had 4 new Michelin tires in my car. Obviously something was making the front ones “a road hazard”.
