Tires MICHELIN or Kumho

MICHELIN Tires

With the crappy factory Continentals we immediately regretted not having 4-Motion as the traction wasn\u2019t the best in the wet or dusty (first wet) conditions. However, after changing to Michelin PS4 SUV tires we have found a new love for her.

Pros: new love for her
Cons: crappy factory Continentals
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Just ordered the Michelin Pilot 4S a few days ago. I’ve had it just shy of a year. All of my gas savings are just being put into tires instead... lol

Awesome table! But I'm surprised to see the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 omitted. Supposedly the best winter performance tire available for the Model 3 (I have them in 19", and would tend to agree).

Pros: best winter performance

The Michelin Cross Climate + seems too good to be true. Loses almost nothing to the PS4S in the dry and adds both durability and winter/snow performance. Seems like those mounted on some 18s that clear the brakes would be the ideal tire for the M3P.

Pros: durability, winter performance

MICHELIN Tires

I have 4S's on my Z4MC, and DWS's on my Golf R. Gotta have a winter-compatible tire on one of them. The 4S's are spectacular on the M.

Pros: 4S's are spectacular
Vehicle: BMW

You are missing 235/35R-20 MICHELIN PILOT ALPIN PA4 N-SPEC N0(PORSCHE), ASYMMETRIC, GT4 XL. They can be had for $250 new and are absolutely amazing 20” winter tires that can be used as all seasons if needed. I traveled in April to Yosemite and Chicago winter ice storm for 90 miles in blizzard and they performed flawlessly. They were fine in my Arizona portion of the trip at 35C. I have OEMs Pilots 4S 20” and the Alpins have more thread left even though I drove more miles on them. I have 27k miles in a few days under a year on my P3D and I am not getting the Pilots 4S when these run out because they are too soft.

Pros: amazing winter tires, flawless performance
Cons: Pilots 4S too soft
Mileage: 27000 km

In trying to cure my vibration issue, I put on TOTL Michelin MXM4 Primacy's. They have been ok...actually, they've been somewhat of a disappointment...mostly because they're so much more expensive than other rubber. You sorta expect amazing results. They're pretty good but not any quieter than the old Conti's. They're really loud on sharp impacts (expansion joints, etc.) and seem to be very sensitive to different road surfaces. Other than that, they're good tires...just not for the price you pay.

Pros: pretty good tires
Cons: expensive, loud on impacts

I have the Kumhos and I don't like them. They are quiet, and seem to last forever, to my chagrin. Personally, I'd rather trade a little tread life for more performance, but they might be what you are looking for. A word of warning, though: they break loose pretty easily when it's wet.

Pros: quiet, seem to last
Cons: break loose easily
