Tires MICHELIN or Goodyear

MICHELIN Tires

Michelin makes a good all-weather tire called the CrossClimate2. I have them on my Kia Niro and have been quite happy with them. Great dry and wet performance, and are fine in light snow.

Pros: great dry, wet performance
Cons: fine in light snow
Vehicle: Kia

Goodyear Tires

Running 19” Goodyear assurance maxlife. Overall satisfied with these tires. One little quirk is they grab grooved pavement more than the stock Toyo’s. This causes a noticeable side to side sway in the car.

Pros: overall satisfied
Cons: side to side sway

The tire shop let me switch to 17" Michelin CrossClimate 2s. They make a soft noise, almost like the sound of a wave going out on a pebble beach, but it's not annoying - they're just not as quiet as the Pirellis, which where literally astonishing. Best of all the Michelins are firm but comfortable around town, and completely smooth at highway speeds; it's like they're rolling on glass bearings.

Pros: smooth at highway speeds
Cons: make soft noise
Vehicle: Mazda

i got almost 6 years out of my goodyear assurance. little louder road noise, but i feel safe with them. towards the last few months of the old tires i could feel them slipping a little if i went over anything like sand, losing traction at startup, etc.

Pros: feel safe with them
Cons: louder road noise, slipping
Vehicle: Ford
Mileage: 60000 km

These are exactly what I'm running on my Polestar. They're a bit louder than the stock Michelins and are a little less efficient but handle great and are outstanding in the snow.

Pros: handle great, outstanding snow
Cons: louder, less efficient

I had commander 2s on my V-Star 650 and commander 3s on my Road Star. They perform pretty similarly in my opinion. My only gripe with the 3s is that they get this harmonic resonance at certain speeds. I thought my engine was having a fit. Turns out it wasn't the engine, the 3s just like to hit that sweet spot and send vibrations in waves. It's hard to describe.

Pros: perform pretty similarly
Cons: harmonic resonance, vibrations

Goodyear Tires

I've had the all seasons and they are not the greatest, tread life not great (had to get mine replaced under warranty) and they were loud.

Cons: tread life not great, loud
