Tires Kumho or KENDA
Kumho makes solid tires. I had a set of the PA31 and they did well.
YEARS ago, had to be over 12 yrs, Kenda was selling FLAME tires for $5 each. I bought 30. I still have a few. They weigh a friggin ton, at least 2x more than a normal tire but they're pretty bulletproof and look cool.
I have used Kumho tires for many years now. Quiet and smooth. Never had a problem.
I just put a set of Kumho Solus TA11 on mine. Smooth, quiet, balanced well. No complaints here.
I put a Kenda K257D on the back of my bike to get through a weekend ride. It did surprisingly well on the asphalt but I don’t expect it to live long.
Kenda Kiniptions on my main city commuter. No problems.
I decided to replace the stock tires on my Radwagon 4 EU with motorcycle tires. Here are some pros, cons, and thoughts. The Kenda's provide a much sturdier ride feel vs the stock tires. I found the stocks were bouncy and balloony, like the bike was on leaf springs. Super annoying. The Kenda tires are stiffer, eliminates cartoonish bounce, and ride feels smoother and secure.
V730 is only other tire that’s cheap and works well. My personal experience on them is on a Miata, I was shocked how good they worked.
I had Kuhmos on both of my MK1 coupes (summer tires, never tried all seasons). They were quiet and comfortable until they weren't. Seemed to be a cliff you go over with them wear-wise. They were great, then very quickly you would get the noise/pounding "change me" stuff. But for the price they were hard to beat. Switched to the PSS on my MKII based on this forum. The Contis were out of stock and I couldn't wait, but they were also a possibility. Ran the PSS tires one season and they were very nice. Still had good performance in both wet and dry compared to the Kuhmos. Can't give you longevity since I traded that buggy in on my present TTS which came stock with Toyos, but I could have made at least one more season on them.
horrible tire. the road noise was embarrassing on this tire. i had them on my mkv rabbit when coming to a stop it sounded like my bearings were shot.
