Tires Kumho or Firestone

So far I love the kumhos, and only paid a bit over $100 per tire.

The set I have now are the Kumho Ecsta ASX's and have lasted me over years. Could have gone longer but my alignment I think is shot and they are worn funny/cupped and make some road noise. I think I spent something like 90 bux a tire and am very happy with it.

On my Sportruck (1980 caddy)(winter beater) I had Firestone Snowbiter studded snows all four. 155/85/13 HONEST to GOD! this truck would leave well set-up K-5 4x4 BLAZERS wallowing in it's dust as soon as the snow and Ice hit.

Firestone Winterforce snow tires with studs! Now I have that satisfying clicky clicky back. And the ability to drive through all the snow and ice EVER. Sure, the handling on dry roads is absolutely garbage now, but it's more fun in other ways!

i run about 28-30 psi in my kumho ecsta mx in the same size. any more and they have accelerated wear in the center of the tire.

here in MN were we rally-x in fields, clay, and grass....I use 185/60/14 winterforces....I run intertubes in the fronts to avoid debeading.

on my Golf with only Koni Sport adjustable dampers and Kumho XS tires, I regularly set faster autocross times than many of the \"darling\" cars in faster classes in my local autocross events

Try the Kumho ASX. They were quieter than any other tire I've tried. Much more so than the awful Goodyear RS-As.

I have had both, and can honestly say that I will not buy the Kumho's again. There is nothing wrong with them, but they are definately not what I would classifiy as a "performance" tire. They have a very nice, and have a quiet and comfortable ride. They just don't stick like a good performance tire should .

no way man i had the khumo 712 xtas and they SUCKED!! they didnt get traction at all, they just wheel hopped everytime off the rip. then i get new wheels and tires, with Nitto's on them... and i havent had any wheel hop. they get great traction, instead of hop i now get the little squall.. but the car is moving not sittin still beatin the crap out of my car.
