Just got the Hankook iON ht installed on my Rivian, as of today, there are five different options for the 21-in Wheels: Michelin Defender LTX M/S2, Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Elect, Bridgestone Alenza Prestige, Yokohama Geolandar A/T4 G018 (all terrain), Hankook iON HT The Yokohama are the only all-terrain option the rest are all season. I personally went with Hankook because of the deal I got and the 80,000 mi warranty.
I had the Hankook ION EV A/S when they first came out on my 2022 Model 3 RWD. Some things to note; Tires lasted just above their tread depth (40K) with rotations every 7K miles, alignment once a year, PSI set to 42 on cold Tires got LOUD as F the last 20K miles before they were worn fully. Like so loud you would think one was flat, but this is stupidly common on all Hankooks I have ever owned even on other vehicles Wh/mi was amazing, average over lifetime was 228Wh/mi during summer, and as low as 175s during winter (in Phoenix AZ)
My 23 had the Hankook OEM tires when I bought it new and changed them with about 45K I believe and they still had tread but one had a slow leak. I consider myself an “aggressive” driver and I only rotated them once in the time. The tech that did it in the parking lot at my office said they didn’t even need rotating. The wear was very even. I went with the Michelin and they are no where near as good as the Hankook. They are worse in wet and dry traction. They howl if there is any hard braking and break loose easily on wet pavement. The Hankooks were also great in the snow (Chicago area) driving 70 miles round trip to the office and back. Very unhappy that I switched. The Hankooks seemed to start getting loud but they wore perfectly even. I will definitely be switching back when the time comes in a year or so. If the Michelins suck in the snow, I’ll bite the bullet and switch back to the Hankooks right away.
On my second set of ion evo’s. First set lasted about 65k miles. Excellent tires.
Just put these on my M3P. Much quieter than what was on it and seem to be more efficient too. More comfortable ride as well. If they last a decent bit, I’ll be very happy with them.
These all season movies should last if well maintained. I got 30.6k miles out of my summer ion evos. Had them at 42psi cold, rotated them every 5-6k miles. Commute 100 miles RT per day. 2019 M3P
Hankooks. Not terrible. At 12k now and the fronts probably needed to be rotated sooner. If I get another 5k out of the set that would be nice.
Mine came with the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3 rubber. Only had them for little over 100 miles before switching out to Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3. No opinion on the Hankooks due to limited mileage, other than they seemed OK.
My 2023 ford explorer has them on it from stock with 23k miles and they are very noisy and they do not handle well at any speed
I have them on my 5.0 whipple and they do not grip the road. I live in south Florida andvin the rain my truck is all over the place. They look great and im sure they are good off road but definitely not on the hot payment with a little HP behind them.
