I really like the DHR as a front tire. I run it F/R sometimes. It has a slightly faster feel, good braking traction, enough bite to lay it over hard.
Excellent tire tread. But I recommend DD or DH casing instead of exo +, depending on the skill of trails you are planning to ride and how hard/advanced rider you are.
Exo is too light of a sidewall. On the front go minimum with the new exo+. Grip wise the Assegai or dhf front or good bit Assegai rear is draggy and makes a difference on the high speed jump lines. I’d go dhr2 rear in the dd casing with a liner.
Can’t say enough about the Hankook ion as for my m3p. So much better than the pirelli bs it came wirh
I ran Exo for a year and ride on trails littered with basalt which is known to have very sharp edges, never had an issue with sidewall slicing.
If you can get Hankook Ventus V12 EVOs in that size, they're pretty nice for the money IMO.
EXO is plenty for XC and most trail riding IMO.
I run Exo casing and have had zero flats or issues. Had over 60 rides on the last pair. Would recommend
I had 2.6 on mine and hated them. Too draggy heavy and slow. Switched to 2.4 all round and it's much more responsive in corners. I'm running Maxxis Ardent exo. No good for wet sloppy stuff, but great for dry or gritty trails.
Just replaced the stock Hankook's on our 2016 after only 20,000 miles. Granted mostly around town miles but damn they wore quickly.
