My mechanic recommended Hankooks, all season with a smooth hwy ride…1 inch taller. I like it a lot
I had cooper AT for 30k on my Tacoma (truck was totaled) then put the Toyo AT on my current Tacoma with about 35k on them.
Cooper was smoother and better for on road driving but the Toyo was the clear winner off road.
I'm now in the Cooper (Discoverer) tire camp on this one. Quiet, perform great on roads and fine for light/medium off-road and they look good, and Made in America!
I ran 2 sets of Cooper on my 2010 Tacoma and really liked them. Just put a set of the new Cooper Road and Trail AT on my 21 Tacoma. They have a more aggressive tread but are quiet on the pavement if that is a concern.
I just put a fresh set of Cooper AT3 XLT 31s on my truck. They're even more quiet than the last set of Coopers (ATP XL). The tread blocks are spaced wider, and are vastly more aggressive too.
I have the coopers, they work great in the snow. Likely a bit quieter than the toyos
Just put the Ion Evo 235/35/20's on my '22 M3P and I'm loving them so far. Great grip in dry cold conditions, light snow (that's all I've been able to test so far this year) and in the wet. Almost passed them over due to another poster that was having serious buyers remorse, but can say that I'm very pleased with them. They're very quiet (mine came stock with the P-Zero summers) so that's my point of reference. These are noticeably firmer, but seem to have gotten a little more compliant as I've broken them in.
Cooper's are good tires. I'm sure it varies model to model, but I find the ST Maxx far better than the KO2s I had.
They are pretty hard tires. Loud, slip in the rain if you give it enough gas, don't feel as solid in a corner. But you'll get better gas mileage on them than a sport tire and they will take much longer to wear out.
Has anybody experienced dry rot with the factory Hankook Kinergy GT tires that came equipped with the 16" Torontos (In MY 2017 at least)? All four tires have these cracks along the outer channels. 16k miles, 8/32" tread depth remaining. 4 years old.
