Goodyear Tires

I have used Good Year Opti-life pro 3 for the last 100,000 KMS of driving that I have done in the 16 leaf. Around $200 per tyre fitted. I have original rims, so this price is for 205/55-16. I get 38,000 kms on average and I drive hard. I u-turn and reverse a lot as I do food delivery work 150 KMS a day. Highly recommend them.

Pros: good mileage, highly recommended
Vehicle: Nissan Leaf
Mileage: 38000 km

Vredestein Tires

I have the Quatracs for 3 years now and done 55k kms on them. Just now I can feel that they don't grip as well as they used to on cold, wet road. I had the same experience with every tyre after 3 years, so it was expected. I am very satisfied with them.

Pros: very satisfied, good lifespan
Cons: reduced wet grip after 3 years
Mileage: 55000 km

Vredestein Tires

Vredestein Hypertrac AS. They are an all season performance tire. Drove in all sorts of ice and snow last winter including driving up my mountain of a driveway. They are quiet, handle great and superb in the rain. My subie is a little snow machine, it is pretty amazing.

Pros: great in ice/snow, quiet, great handling, superb in rain

I like them everywhere except wet roads. I've never been disappointed with their performance off-road and they do really well in snow, better than in rain actually. I can't hear the tire noise over the wind and rattling. Granted, they're the only ATs I've had on my Jeep since it was lifted so I can't compare them to other things. They are not the best option for a daily driver F150 though. They get loud and cup quickly and rain performance is more important with a heavier vehicle, especially when towing a camper.

Pros: good off-road performance, good in snow
Cons: poor wet traction, get loud, cup quickly

Goodyear Tires

2009 Goodyear run flat low profile tires. The ideal with "run flats" is that if you get a nail or something you can still drive on the tire at reduced speed safely for a short time. The problem is that the tires were incredibly fragile and barely lasted 10,000 mi before catastrophically just shredding apart on their own. And because they would shred apart in such horrific ways the sidewall of the tire would often damage sensors or other things underneath the car, making the repair cost 10x what it normally would be. Also the tires themselves cost several times more than a normal tire. One of the biggest money pits of my life, I can't believe I let the dealers talk me into that but at the time they made it sound like a wonder tire that would last extra long and be extra safe. It was literally the exact opposite ????

Pros: none
Cons: fragile, shredding apart
Mileage: 10000 km
