I've had nothing but good experiences with Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs on our 3rd gen, 5th gen, and two trucks. Bonus that you can get them studded if you're running a dedicated winter setup or live in weather that requires it.
Had them on my old Ranger and had zero issues on road and 2wd off road camping, and dirt biking. I even got 60k miles out of them (and they still looked pretty good). Very good bang for the buck.
I noticed the higher mileage with Goodyear Fuel Max tires.
Got 2 tires GoodYears A/S for back $170 for both And 2 Goodyears A/S in front for $150 Both have 9/32+ on tread. This site does sell used but I’ve haven’t had a problem with any of there tires. Highly recommend.
Personally I run Goodyear Assurance Weather ready and I've been really happy with them.
I got some real dope good years
I just put on a new set of the Goodyear’s brand new wrangler electric drive all terrains in a 275/65r20 non LT this past weekend. I’m only 200 miles in but so far I’m really impressed. My truck has a 1.5” as well and my efficiency is shockingly high. Need to put on more miles to verify. Tires are really quiet too despite being relatively large and aggressive. They are expensive tires but Goodyear was running a 20% sale on their website so the price was pretty manageable.
I would take a Nexen over most Goodyear tires in the all-season passenger tire market... I honestly don't feel most Goodyear tires are much more than a mid-range budget brand anymore similar to Cooper, General, Falken, etc. They have some excellent tires, but their mainstream lines are nothing of note.
OMG, two years ago, I put Goodyear Reliant all way around on my Kia Soul. They are the worst tires I've ever had in 50 years of driving. They are cupping in the back & cut in front, have become incredibly noisy, even though they still have decent tread.
I too have Assurance tires that lasted about half the amount of miles they are warranted for.
