Tires Giti or GISLAVED

GISLAVED Tires

I had Conti Vikingcontacts and those were great. Also, they are hard to find, but Conti owns a company called Gislaved tires who make outstanding winter compounds. They are from Sweden and engineered specifically for Scandinavian, Canadian, and Russian winters.

Pros: great winter compounds
Cons: hard to find

I live in Utah and have Giti Champiro tied on my Kia Rio. They are very good tires, ride well, and are somewhat quiet. They are as good as Hankooks or Goodyear. The are somewhat lacking in ice but nonetheless really good tires.

Pros: very good tires, ride well
Cons: lacking in ice
Vehicle: Kia Rio

Even with these cheap Giti tires I have about 80% less wheel spin in snowy conditions compared to normal \"Street\" mode in same conditions. Turning a corner, the stability is enhanced and feels safer.

Pros: stability is enhanced, feels safer
Cons: cheap tires

Giti Tires

Just took it for my first drive on snowy Boston roads. Slushy really, barely an inch. My impression so far is snow mode clearly retards the Tig's throttle and seems to start in 2nd gear, limiting torque. It feels fairly solid and I didn't feel much slip, even on my own unplowed street.

Pros: feels fairly solid
Cons: retards the throttle
Mileage: 2000 km

Giti Tires

Performance-wise, I've been happy with my Gitis. At 1/32 of wear at 23K miles, the guy at Discount Tire was impressed.

Pros: happy with performance
Mileage: 23000 km

Giti Tires

My SE came with the Giti, never heard of them before. So far so good, but it's only the first year I've had them and I'm at 7000 miles. I'll probably replace them before next winter.

Pros: so far so good
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 11265 km

Giti Tires

Just picked up a 2021 Tiguan SE, of course equipped with Giti\u2019s. So far in 15 miles of driving, they have a little road noise compared to my Bridgestones currently on my Alltrack

Pros: little road noise
Mileage: 15 km

Giti Tires

Giti tires, at least here in the US, I thought we’re a VW OE thing. Not a very good tire when new, definitely hasn’t gotten better with age.

Cons: not a very good tire
