Tires Firestone or NANKANG

Another set of tires I would recommend that is almost never mentioned is Firestone Destination A/Ts. It has always been my go to truck tire. Although I haven't put them on my Tacoma yet, they did great on our '01 Sierra, '05 Ranger, and my uncle's '16 Silverado.

I have Firestone Destination LE2s, and I haven't had much trouble driving in the snow with them. To be fair I haven't ever had snow tires, so I don't have much to compare to. If you have experience driving in the snow already, and drive slow you should be fine.

I previously had the OEM, Pirelli Scorpion tires which I liked. The Firestone Destination LE3 tires seems to be equivalent to them..

I was not able to find falkens for the size I was looking so switched from Yoko a052 to Nankangs… very happy so far … was able to close the gap in my group by 3 seconds …

I've run both. Both are good. I prefer the Falken overall due to the directness of the steering feel and how well I can place the car. Nankangs very easy to drive.

They don’t seem to have got a mention yet, but the generally accepted ‘best track tyre for lowest price’ is the Nankang NS-2R. Right at the bottom of the price range for semi-slicks so obviously it’s performance isn’t at the same level as bigger brands semi-slicks, or eve Nankang’s own AR-1s (which most agree is a genuinely good semi-slick), but performs better on track than more expensive road/summer tyres in the dry.

So he did just that, pulled the steel wheel out, added liquid rubber and sealed the fuck outta that hole from the inside. $15 is all it costed me while Firestone would’ve convinced my stupid asss to drop $150 on a tire. I’m so pissed lol

The newer style Firestone WinterForce 2 are decent tires. Good tread design, not too hard, not too soft compound. Fairly priced $100-150/ea depending.

a bit noisy when worn but they stretch well and last plenty long. I usually buy them when going for new tires. NS-II

I had a set on a 2008 F-250 work truck. Wore down quickly ~15K miles and unevenly. Felt like hard plastic chunks when cold, noisy, no off road traction. Had one blow out at about 60 mph and later on I had another tire get a tumbleweed puncture in the sidewall. They were trash. Swapped them out for a proper set of tires.
