Tires Firestone or NANKANG

Firestone Tires

You need some better snow tires. I had Firestone Winterforce 2 UV tires on my Jeep and almost always just needed RWD in the UP unless I drove to breakers and it was 12” of snow

Pros: better snow tires
Vehicle: Jeep

I’ve had 2 sets of Firestone over the past 5 years. Destination AT2 & Weathergrip. Both great tires in the snow. Weathergrips are not quiet tires though. But no blowout issues.

Pros: great tires in snow
Cons: weathergrips not quiet

I run 33inch firestone at tires on my diesel truck and they are some of the best tires I’ve gotten. They definitely have improved since the 90s

Pros: best tires, improved

I’ve had a few different firestone tires and have been very happy with them. Winterforce snow tires were decent, and the Destination LE2 were great. I’d be comfortable recommending the newer LE3.

Pros: happy with them, decent

I did however run the Firestone firehawk 500 tires on my car, and holy cow those are awesome tires. 10/10 performance rating, would highly recommend, they’re grippy and sticky as hell for race car like driving.

Pros: grippy, sticky, awesome tires

I have Nakang NS2 in the front of my Alfa Romeo Brera. The Brera demands a lof of from front tires, they wear pretty well and have pretty decent grip (not great).

The thing is, you may like or not like, they have a soft construction. So you are more on the confortable side, but roll a bit more on corners and give you less steering feedback than a better tire like Michelin PSS.

Pros: wear pretty well, decent grip
Cons: soft construction, less feedback
Vehicle: Alfa Romeo Brera

I had Firestone’s (Firestone is owned by Bridgestone) and I hated them with a passion. They didn’t handle the rain or snow good at all, and after only 20k miles I had this, cracking all over the tires.

Cons: cracking all over, bad handling
Mileage: 32186 km

Firestone Tires

We just replaced set of Firestones, less than 8000 miles by previous owner, that got hard and tried to disintegrate when we weren’t paying attention; chunks were coming off! Never seen a tire do that before unless it was old.

Cons: got hard, disintegrated
Mileage: 8000 km
