When I bought my car it had a mix of winter tires and odd budget tires all round. I got all 4 replaced for some decent Goodyear eagle F1's with balancing and tracking and had no regrets.
The tires are amazing. I love the grip and control I now have. Granted the tires that were on it were 8 years old (PO has the tires for a long time) so any new tires would make a world of difference
Have them on my TJ in 32.5” been very happy with them especially in snow.
I have 17s and I am on my second set. I got over 60k rotating 5 on the first set. Great grip in wet weather and excellent in snow too. Not too loud either.
Have had 3 sets, best at tire around. Much better than the KO2s I’ve had. 10/10 recommend
I have the Wrangler duratracs on 17"s and love them. They are great in all types of weather and performed really well off roading.
Have about ~25k miles on them and they seem to be at the halfway point in their lifespan.
Super happy with the duratrac, I’ll buy them again. They’ve been great in dry, wet, snow and ice (not as grippy as a snow tire on ice).
Noisier than my KO2s, but not unbearably so.
I had a set of Firestone Winterforce 2's on the WRX, and they were downright dangerous if they were on anything other than snow.
I have seen Goodyear tires (that have not been ran flat) that are just completely destroyed. The rubber compound and the foundation of the tire is just complete garbage. Most Goodyear tires that fail are only a few years old, and should have many miles left in them. The pre-mature cracking, and ply separation in these tires is extreme!
