Tires Falken or Firestone

Falken Tires

I took a set of 7/32 tread depth firestone ft140’s off my little daily driver Toyota Corolla and went with a set of Falken Aklimates. They run quieter, cost less, and last longer than the cross climates (which I also sell) and are my most recommended tire for cars and small SUV’s.

Pros: run quieter, cost less

I used to run Mickey Thompson mud tires on my Jeep. The last set had something like 60% tread life remaining when they were so cupped out and obnoxious I couldn't stand it anymore. I yanked them off, and decided to give a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3s a try. The Falkens were significantly less expensive, better mannered, and 40-50,000 miles later, they're barely even worn. On the same vehicle. Without any mods or maintenance to the suspension, which obviously wasn't the reason the Mickeys cupped out. These are excellent tires, and I would buy Falkens again, no question. On the other side of the line, I got a set of Sumitomos for my truck, and when I wore those out, I dug deep and ponied up for a set of Michelins the next time. The Sumitomos just didn't do it for me.

Pros: less expensive, better mannered, barely worn
Vehicle: Jeep
Mileage: 64373 km

I went with Firestone destination at/2 in 235/65 r17. They are great and light weight! Only 4lbs more than stock tires.

Pros: great and light weight
Cons: 4lbs more than stock

We replaced the stock tires with some AT falkens. Massive difference in grip. In all weather conditions. Highly recommend, at a ~5% sacrifice to fuel economy on hybrid.

Pros: massive difference in grip
Cons: 5% sacrifice to fuel economy

When I ordered my 2024 xlt 2.0 4k tow Maverick I opted for the Falken wildpeak AT3 tires. They're a little louder than all season but not much. Average around 34 mpg in the summer and 29 in the winter great traction, have around 30.000 miles on them with plenty of tread left

Pros: great traction, plenty of tread
Cons: a little louder
Mileage: 48280 km

I had a choice, AWD or an Eco Boost motor. The AWD ended up being a better buy. I know I’m going to miss the Eco Boost.

I chose the AWD because of boon docking. I put Falken Wildpeak 235/65/16 tires on it.

Pros: better buy, boon docking
Cons: miss the Eco Boost

We had Firestone Transforces on my dad’s truck when I was in high school. Slightest hint of mud and they would pack up and slick off in an instant, but man they lasted a long time.

Pros: lasted a long time
Cons: slick off in mud
