Continental Vikingcontact 7 is by far my favorite for snow and ice mix (we get a lot of slush with ice under it here). also pretty quiet for a winter tire on dry roads.

Pros: quiet on dry roads

Currently on Continental winter contact TS860 235 35 19, cannot say a word against them in light and heavy snow conditions.

Pros: good in snow conditions

I run continental viking contacts on my NA because it was tough to find many options in the 15\" size. No complaints from me though I don't really drive it too much in the winter cuz the roads get salted around here so I only do it when it's warm enough that day that I can wash the underside off without the water freezing.

Pros: no complaints

I use the Conti DWS06+ on my WRX. If you're going with an all season, that's my top recommendation.

Pros: top recommendation

I went with Continental UltimateContact Winter. Not too far off X-Ice although a little less good on ice but instead better in wet and dry.

Pros: better in wet, better in dry
Cons: less good on ice

Oh heck no to the Conti's unless you like a super soft sidewall that likes to bubble when it passes by a pothole let alone hits one. I don't get the fascination with them other than the price. I ran them on my old GLI and they were neither good in the rain/cold nor really all the special in the dry.

Pros: value piece is big
Cons: super soft sidewall
