O.K I did it. Got the Contintal Cross Contact UHP 285/50/18 put on this afternoon. Driving home they seemed to be very quiet and smooth running.
i really like my BFG g-force sports
I was told to run right around 40psi in my Continental ExtremeContact tires. I was running about 38 in my Michelins with no adverse effects.
ive got g force sport and im pretty happy with then, other wise yoky es100 but the wear is not the best but has alot of grip and feedback i think.
The Continental ContiExtreme Contacts are awesome. In my opinion, they are the best kept secret out there for someone who wants a high-performance all-season tire.
I'll second the continentals. I have them on my car for 2000 miles now and I think they are a great tire, good traction in all conditions. I had 205/50's on my car before and to me, they look too small in the wheel well. Just my opinion.
When the tires are new, or in the first half of their wear, they are almost identical in their performance--both quiet, good wet/dry weather performance and decent in the snow. *But* when I had my bimmer, the Conti's got seemingly harder and louder on the second half of their wear---which is normal for almost any tire with not much tread left.
I certainly hope they've improved them since '99, because mine were definitely Craptinentals. It was like driving on roller skates.
