But to be honest, the best snow tires are Bridgestone Blizzaks. Hands down the best I have ever had.
Blizzacks are nice on icy roads.
I went 2” larger overall diameter tire (factory 27” to 29”) and went from a regular oem tire to walmart (west lake ) ATs. And I only saw a very small change in average mpg, aprox 32.1 down to 29.8mpg.
Believe it or not but narrower tires are better for snow. I have Bridgestone blizzaks since studs are illegal here. Honestly it’s like the snow isn’t even on the ground
Picked up the weatherpeaks for use in Toronto 2 months back on my CX-5. It's been miles better than than the stock Toyos (quiter, better road feel) and didnt notice a fuel economy hit at all.
Bridgestone Blizzaks. You will love the grip they provide.
At 45 degrees and below a regular all season tire will start to harden and lose grip, even on bare pavement. If you live somewhere where it gets cold get the Blizzaks
Just replaced 4 accord tires last weekend 4/2023 and its $950 Costco with discount, bridgestone turanza.
I knew I fucked up immediately after get 2 Westlake front tires for my Honda Civic because of how cheap it is. As soon as these fuckers are worn out, it’s quality from now on.
Westlake tires are becoming a "known" brand name. It still doesn't change the fact they are a low end Chinese tire. That said, they will wear out fast as with all other Chinese tires the tread compound is very soft (low treadware rating). They don't hug corners well, there not fantastic at shuttling water, they are horrible in adverse terrain/weather, & they can be difficult to balance.
