Nokian hakkapeliitta are also good and reliable.
Just gave the Weatherpeaks a solid test in snow and ice on a road trip through Seattle and Oregon. On my 2021 CX-5 Signature they performed quite well.
Nokian is better on Snow and ice, less tread life
Michelin is better on wet and dry, but still decent in snow, better tread life
Have a look at the Bridgestone Weatherpeak as well, better tread life and easily comparable to the Nokian in snow and ice.
The Nokian Nordman are great aswell, would argue they are bit better than new Hakkas when there is wet snow on the road (ice and compacted snow, both great).
I just came across this post after ordering a set of Nokian WR G4’s. This will make my fourth set over the years for different cars, and absolutely love them. Great grip in snow, ice, slush, etc.
I personally have Bridgestone Revo 3 on my truck. Best non-snow tire I’ve ever driven in the snow and rain, they ride and steer much better than any other all terrain and I’ve never needed more off road performance.
I put them on my Clarity and they're every bit as good as the Michelins they replace at half the per mile cost. They even are a bit more efficient.
I have Hakka R5's on my S5 and doubt I'll be going back to anything else. They've handled winter here in Alberta very well so far.
I can also vouch for Toyo Observes, used those before switching and I had no complaints.
Had a set on my Volvo. They were good in the winter, but only okay in the summer, and they met an early demise on a gravel road in the Sangres
I have nokian’s do not buy. They are not very good.Get real snow tires if you really are looking for safety.
