Tires BRIDGESTONE or LASSA

BRIDGESTONE Tires

Whoever said blizzak are terrible in the snow is a lunatic I have to TRY and get the traction control to come on, and cane take corners covered in ice at 40-50mph and the car doesn’t even wiggle…now my preference is Michelin Alpin Pa4 but I had these in my garage from a couple years ago…I bought them then 2 weeks later the wheel got a crack, so I got the Alpin on the 19” wheels and did that the last 3 winters, now the wheel is fixed and the basically new blizzaks are great just got back from 5 inches of snow and ice I’m driving the speed limit everybody else has their hazards on and/or crashing into curbs.

Pros: great in snow and ice

I highly recommend Bridgestone Blizzaks. I put those on my stock steelies and bought a nicer set of aftermarket wheels with all season tires for Spring through Fall.

Pros: good in terrible weather

We got Bridgestone Weatherpeaks instead. Not a full snow tire like the Blizzaks, but good snow performance for an all seasons set of tires.

Pros: good snow performance

Just get Blizzaks, by far the best bang for your buck winter tire, they will need to be swapped for your regular tires every year, but they are awesome in anything this state will throw at you. I have used them for years through several iterations on multiple vehicles.

Pros: awesome in winter
Cons: need to be swapped

I've run everything from the cheapest of cheap to high-end and can tell you there is a difference in performance. I drive a lot, so i now by all weather tires (Bridgestone currently) that are 4 season (incl snow rated).

Pros: difference in performance

I got a great deal on Bridgestone Weatherpeak at Costco. I felt very confident driving them in torrential rains last week.

Bought these tires for my Mazda 3 after one of my OEM Bridgestone EL440’s got pregnant(sidewall bulge), and I plugged a puncture in the other one. Decided to just replace the tires completely.

So far I’m happy with them.

Pros:

- Severe snow rating so they are legally snow tires in my state(for mountain passes and stuff), and I’m guessing the snow traction is way better. They are still all season tires though.

- Seems to be a softer ride overall even on the stock 18” side.

- XL sidewall strength, vs the stock tires being standard. Should help with those sidewall issues.

- They seem fairly quiet as far as noise.

- $150 rebate in addition to being fairly cheap

Cons:

- These are definitely not for those people who want sporty handling, they don’t really feel like a sport tire, and are more of a touring road tire.

- I’ve heard the treadwear isn’t the best(makes sense with the snow rating)

Pros: softer ride, fairly quiet
Cons: not for sporty handling
Vehicle: Mazda 3

I had the Bridgestone Revo 3 in my last truck and they did great. And they have a 60k mileage warranty. I got 70k out of them. Before my truck was totaled. Probably had another 15k on them.

Pros: did great, 70k miles
Mileage: 112654 km

I have the original 20” Bridgestones on my 21, with about 20k miles. Should be good for another 5k or so. Not great tires, but fairly typical OEM tires for me.

Pros: fairly typical OEM tires
Cons: not great tires
Mileage: 20000 km

Here's the 18" Cadiz wheels that came off 2015 Golf R. Stock 16" Astana wheels are beyond hideous, they are also heavy (e.g. 21 lbs.). As soon as you mount any sticky tires, irrelevant of size, your range will decrease by ~10%. The sole purpose of low resistance Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus tires is to float due to super firm carcass. These tires are terrible in dry and scary in wet.

Cons: terrible in dry, scary in wet
