Couldn't find Michelin Pilot Alpin 5s in the size I needed so I tried the new Bridgestone Blizzak 6s and so far I'm very happy with them. Super stable on dry highways, Michelin X-Ice Snows were a wobbly mess that made me feel like I was in a boat.

Pros: Super stable on dry highways
Cons: Michelin X-Ice Snows wobbly

I'm now on my 3rd winter on Blizzaks because Costco had a deal on them at the time and I thought I'd give them a try. I find them similar, but probably better from the standpoint that I used to be able to spin the X-Ices too easily taking off from a light in slippery conditions, and I can't say that I've noticed that issue as much with the Blizzaks.

Pros: better in slippery conditions
Vehicle: Volkswagen

OEM Bridgestone Alenza tires are known to be trash and the rears were completely done by ~17k miles. I have ~37k miles on the Michelin CrossClimates and the rears probably have another 20k left in them, fronts have another 30-40k left in them.

Pros: Michelin tires last longer
Cons: OEM tires are trash, short lifespan
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 54000 km

For Illinois daily driving, I’d go with the Bridgestone WeatherPeak out of the three you listed it’s been the most consistent in wet + light-snow grip and rides smoother than the Contis or the BFGs. I swapped to WeatherPeaks earlier this year and they’ve handled Midwest rain and early flurries way better than my old set.

Pros: consistent wet, snow grip

The weatherpeak is a good tire but I find it struggles a bit in the dry/wet compared to other tires in the segment as a trade off for being really good in snow as an all season.

Pros: good in snow
Cons: struggles in dry/wet
Vehicle: Mazda
