The Bridgestone is going to be faster. The nankang would probably wear a little bit better call and is more heat tolerant. But not as fast when cold, and also heavier. If you were happy with the Bridgestone I would have to say probably stay there
I've got the Generals on my Jetta GLI. I had higher performance tires but kept getting bubbles on the awful New England roads. I'm pretty happy with them. You definitely give up a little bit of grip/road feel on dry roads but they're comfortable for daily driving and the value factor is nice. If you're looking for something that's going to suit you on a day-to-day or commuter type basis I'd recommend them.
I drive a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and ran a set of General AltiMAX RT43s to 64,000 miles (3/32” remaining tread). Replaced with RT45s a year ago (13k miles) and they still look new.
I have them on my ND2 and they're legitimately better than the stock summer bridgestones.
these tires well, may be worth the price. and after today, I've decided to keep them for the next round of tires. definitely not overkill. i would have been in a ditch today if i didn't have the traction i needed. i almost slid off the road 3 times, and that's a positive given the road conditions.
Honestly? I've got nothing against Pirelli tires, but the Generals are would be my go to here... They are a better quality tires than those specific Pirellis... Ride better, be quieter, last longer...
I have them on my 2016 forester 2.5. I live in the middle of Indiana so for half of the year it rains somewhat regularly. Personally, I think the tire is great. I have made turns too quickly while the roads were wet and didn't slide around at all. Accelerating and braking, i consider the traction to be very good in all conditions.
My mother drives her Hyundai i20 on Bridgestone Weather Control A005 and is happy with them.
I just got 4 General AltiMax RT45 installed on my 2008 Pontiac vibe. All date codes are 3523, so they are pretty fresh. Only put about 300 miles on them so far. I like them, car handles rain, had slight snow nothing crazy, and dry, drives very nice, not loud, but my issue is a *vibration* I never had before.
Honestly I think it's bad business for Bridgestone to ship such crap tires on this vehicle, since it's turned me off from buying any Bridgestone tire in the future.
