Tires BRIDGESTONE or DUNLOP

DUNLOP Tires

I have them (Dunlops) on my MINI (215/45/17) as my summer road set. They've seen some auto-x (6 events) over the past year and a couple of track days (4-6 hours total). They've held up quite well. Great feel when breaking away from traction, handle heat well and for the type of tire they are, wear quite well. I've had them for ~10,000km.

Pros: great feel, handle heat well
Vehicle: MINI
Mileage: 10000 km

DUNLOP Tires

These are not the tires for you if you are at all concerned about economy. I got 13,000 out of mine last time plus two HPDEs. That last time being the last time I daily-drove those tires too.

Pros: amazingly fast in wet
Cons: garbage below 50 degrees
Mileage: 20921 km

BRIDGESTONE Tires

As far as the Bridgestone tires, I have ran them for 2 years and they have been an excellent all season tire. They do everything well and easily beat the factory tires.

Pros: excellent all season tire
Cons: beat the factory tires

DUNLOP Tires

My 09 Lux only has about 6000 miles but when I bought it I expected to replace the OE tires right away. I had done my homework and came up with the Dunlop SP Sport Signature as the best bet, at a good price too.

Pros: good price
Mileage: 6000 km

DUNLOP Tires

I had a set of Dunlop SP Sport tires on the Sentra a while back. They were good in the dry, decent in the wet and sucked ass in the cold.

Pros: good in dry, decent in wet
Cons: sucked in cold

BRIDGESTONE Tires
oldracer
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 1.0

I went wit Nitto 555s on the GLIwhich has a much bigger tracttion problem than the R's....huge ride, trn-in and traction improvement. OEM there was the rimprotectors known as Bridgestone RE050As in 225/40/18....horrible crap.

Pros: traction improvement, huge ride
Cons: horrible crap

DUNLOP Tires

The OEM A/S Dunlop has a 92 sidewall rating; it certainly isn't "soft." it is, unfortunately, just a weak tire design/build in this case I've lost 3 already as well and currently running a 4th with a bubble... they suck

Cons: weak tire design
Vehicle: BMW
