Thermostat is broken or someone changed non-original thermostat.

Those do not work.

Only working (which is also oem) spare part is Motorad Cold climate zone thermostat 5461-82K.

Other does not work. Tested 10+ thermostat on here skandinavia.

Pros: working spare part, oem
Cons: non-original does not work
Part number: 5461-82K

OEM Mazda Thermostat

Some of the newer Mazda Skyactives have thermostat issues, but it's a minor problem (only symptom is taking longer to warm up) and Mazda extended the warranty on them. It's the only issue I've brought the car to the dealer for on my 21 Mazda 3 without roughly 50k on it.

Pros: minor problem, extended warranty
Cons: thermostat issues
Vehicle: Mazda
Mileage: 50000 km

Your 2013 ford escape is actually built on the same platform as a 2013 cx-5, different engine though. Earlier ford models would actually use Mazdas engines like the escort, focus, and fusion. Mazda and ford had a long partnership that ended around 2013 and since then Mazdas quality and reliability has steadily increased. For the price ranges they are solid cars, I think the mazda3 shines here, it’s pretty competitive and affordable in its class. Also one of the few eco cars that has a real automatic. They don’t have any major issues, my 21 3 has been solid. It needed the thermostat replaced, but Mazda covered me since they have a lengthy extended warranty for that specific part.

Pros: solid, competitive, affordable, real automatic
Cons: thermostat replacement needed
Vehicle: Mazda 3

Read about the recall, had dealer swap thermostat. Had a reason to leave right away with outside temp at 38 F. Warm air by the stop sign.

Pros: warm air

Common for the thermostat and/or coolant control valve to fail on newer Mazda 3s. It's not a big deal but you might have more coolant loss and it takes longer to warm up.

Pros: not a big deal
Cons: coolant loss, longer warm
Vehicle: Mazda 3

MotoRad Thermostat

I bought a Motorad 7908203 Thermostat and replaced it. Got all the air out of the system after replacing and all seemed good but now, my car only heats up to the correct temp when idle and when I start to drive is when my car starts to cool down closer to C again and doesn’t heat up any further.

Cons: car cools down while driving
Vehicle: Chrysler 200
Part number: 7908203

Don't get the Motorad that includes the thermostat housing, because that one is junk, and the thermostat housing is not OEM sized.

Cons: junk quality, non-OEM size

The MotoradT25 16psi one worked, but don't trust that company either, motorad aftermarket thermostats are terrible and often run too hot - could be your problem.

Pros: worked
Cons: run too hot, terrible
Part number: T25
