Mine has been chilling little to no problem so far in 20-30° PA
Sometimes going down long hills engine braking will close the thermostat and will warm up to 200, but then opens back up
I replaced it with the motorad thermostat that opens 10° lower
Motorad (SNN-2000-195) 195 thermostat for quite awhile now. Zero issues.\n\nI did try something that claimed to be a Mopar t-stat my last upgrade and it wouldnt open up until about 225 degrees. It was like 40 bucks too. So i went back to the Motorad (SNN-2000-195)
Update: replacing the MotoRad thermostat it had in it with an OEM one fixed it and it sits at 1/3rd like it should.
In the past and up to several months ago, I’ve always gone with Saleri (Italy) pumps and Wahler (Germany) thermostats for the M54 and have had great results.
I would suggest a failsafe thermostat from Motorad and an OEM Motorcraft seal.
I had a lot of trouble this summer myself with a bad thermostat. I found a stant super stat that used to be one of the best that they don\u2019t make any anymore, but it caused me some trouble.,I had no choice I went with a motorad 195, seems to be all right It\u2019s been about four months now.
I recently changed the thermostat on my dad's car as well, I went with a wahler, and I'm observing the same things.
I bought a Motorad 7908203 Thermostat and replaced it. Got all the air out of the system after replacing and all seemed good but now, my car only heats up to the correct temp when idle and when I start to drive is when my car starts to cool down closer to C again and doesn’t heat up any further.
I decided to try another thermostat, this time a Wahler and nothing has changed as the car will still not get up to temperature and no hot air.
Don't get the Motorad that includes the thermostat housing, because that one is junk, and the thermostat housing is not OEM sized.
