Strut assembly KYB or Monroe

KYB Strut assembly

Do yourself a big favor and don't try to tear down and rebuild the front struts just to reuse the spring. Just buy the KYB loaded struts. It's just not worth the hassle.

Pros: buy loaded struts
Cons: not worth the hassle

Monroe Strut assembly

I had my mechanic install Monroe struts on my 2013 CR-V before I sold it and purchased my 2021 Avalon. Monroe struts noticeably improved the ride of my CR-V and I highly recommend them.

Pros: improved the ride
Vehicle: Honda

I put a set of KYB on my 2007 nearly a year and 11,000 miles ago, no complaints so far. They feel comfortable enough to me.

Pros: comfortable feel, no complaints
Mileage: 17702 km

Monroe Strut assembly

I have 2013 accord cp and replaced all four struts from monroe (oespectrum) with the stock spring. The ride is comfortable but the suspension feels abit busy on harsher road conditions.

Pros: comfortable ride
Cons: busy on harsh roads
Vehicle: Honda Accord

KYB Strut assembly

I ordered up bare kyb excel-g struts. Went ahead and installed them. But the ride is harsh. I'd say ride quality is a 3 out of 10 in town 5 out of 10 on the highway. I think the new struts are acting fine. It's just the springs are so tight and don't allow any forgiveness. The handling is great around the corners.

Pros: great handling
Cons: harsh ride, stiff springs
Vehicle: Honda Accord

Monroe Strut assembly

I’m late to the thread but those looking for answers I do not recommend Monroe. Grabbed both of the ones listed here and lasted me all of 30,000 miles and that’s me being generous. I recommend motorcraft as that’s oem and not much of a price difference

Cons: lasted 30,000 miles
Mileage: 30000 km
