Steering rack OEM BMW or OEM Volkswagen

OEM Volkswagen Steering rack

Instead I installed an aftermarket 'rebuilt' 4 bolt unit. Came with new bellows boots and inner tie rods, was still a bit pricey but saved something like $300 - 500 vs buying a rack & harness from my dealer.

Pros: saved money, new parts
Cons: bit pricey

OEM Volkswagen Steering rack

SLVRon got back to me (guy who had the steering replaced under warranty) Yes, I had the steering rack replaced about a month ago and that seems to have resolved the issue.

Pros: resolved the issue

OEM Volkswagen Steering rack

I've had the R32 rack for a few years and love it. Granted I did a full blown hybrid suspension swap when it was installed but I think it feels great. Overall turn-in response is sharp and responsive, my mk4 feels almost mk2 go-kart like.

Pros: sharp and responsive

YES my car does this also, it started at about 12,500 miles. My car is a 2017 4-motion S sportwagen, mine is so bad that you can duplicate it when the car is stopped or when it is driving.

Cons: bad steering rack
Vehicle: Volkswagen Golf
Mileage: 12500 km
