I have autolite xp in the van. $100 for 6 ngk, $90 for denso with a van with 250k miles. Everyone says there crap, but it runs great.
I put Autolite Iridium plugs in my '06 N52 20k miles ago because of a crazy sale/rebate. It runs as smooth as a new one.
You're on the right track- replace those worn out plugs. Pre-detonation started on my '18 at 30k. Increasing octane rating to 93 worked up to 58k miles. $50 for a new set of [Autolite Iridium XP5363](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078KWTCF2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) resolved this problem.
We changed that spark plug and the customer was happy with the magneto drop. That spark plug worked fine on a Champion spark plug bomb test.
I bought some Autolite double platinum spark plugs because they were on sale at the Napa where I live but everybody I have tried asking to help me do my spark plugs has gawked as soon as I say "Autolite" and tells me that I'll have nothing but issues with those plugs and that "they're only good for Fords" basically.
If you used auto lite spark plugs that is almost certain the problem.
Champion spark plugs are rubbish, not sure why they’re even sold.
I quit buying Champions 40 years ago for shitty quality.
Champion is garbage.
Champion aren't a great brand. They may have been at one point, but not any more.
