Last time I tried the 3922s and I was pleasently surprised with how smooth the car runs. I haven't had a misfire code since I changed over.
I've had much success with BERU plugs on all of my VW's, especially my 16V's. Beru maks the stock/replacement plugs for Porsche, VW and Audi (I work at a Porsche dealership, I see it all the time)
Also I'm using the 3922's and love them. They went a long way in solving my timing pull probs w/ my ATP Stg3.
It was time to change the plugs so I went for one range colder (from Autolite 3923 to 3922). Before I installed these plugs, the power would drop off dramatically above 5500 in 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Now it is a much more progressive decline. The car actually maintains that pushed back in the seat feeling in the upper revs now.
i put in some 3922s and i can hear it misfire when its idling, but it seems fine when im giving it gas.
I work on euro cars. If I'm diagnosing an issue that even has me think misfire and it has autolites, I'm done until they're in the trash can and OE is installed.
My experience with auto lite has been complete trash, and their review ratings are always great. Anybody else have problems with auto lite plugs?
Throw them away, they're shit plugs. Autolite just didn't crack the code for making quality iridium plugs at a super cheap price. I wouldn't even put these in my lawn mower.
Don't buy Autolite spark plugs. They suck. I had 2 out of 4 in a pack that were faulty and failed within days of installing them.
When we got our 535xi one of the first things I did was visit the local parts place to buy new spark plugs for the N54. After driving the car a while and visiting many BMW discussion boards I learned most folks have a very low opinion of them
