If you decide to go with the Routan SE you could change out the rear shocks for Monroe Sensa Trac. They are load adjusting and will support the extra weight of towing. They were very easy to install on our SUV, provide better handling and the vehicle stays level with over 500 pounds loaded in the back.

Pros: easy to install, better handling
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Part number: 58648

Monroe Shock absorbers

Monroe is not a bad thing. Saleen used the Formula GP's until they started producing thier own. I have them on my Camaro, among other things, and it pulls .88 G's on the skidpad.

Pros: Pulls .88 G's
Cons: not a bad thing
Vehicle: Chevrolet Camaro

My '04 VW Golf R32 came with Monroe shocks on the rear as OEM. They were 'floaty' feeling after less than 10k miles. I put a total of 25k on them before I just couldn't stand it anymore.

Cons: floaty feeling
Mileage: 10000 km
