JB74W. Stock springs. I have just fitted Bilstein 24-321730 front and 24-327336 rear. It has improved small bump compliance and the rebound rate of the rears is better matched to the springs.

Pros: improved small bump compliance
Vehicle: Suzuki Jimny
Part number: 24-321730, 24-327336

I have B8 Performance with Hotchkiss lowering springs. It rides great but it’s probably one step more than you need. B6 is likely the way to go.

Pros: rides great
Cons: one step more

I have recently installed new front shock absorbers Bilstein b4 together with top and bottom mounts. car drives like new, before it was kind of scary on the highway, wobbly and unpredictable. now suspension is sturdy, reminds me of tesla model 3 driving, you feel bumps, but car is kind of sporty, strict, even at 130 kmh. already driven 1.5 k km on new suspension, no problems so far

Pros: car drives like new, sturdy suspension
Cons: wobbly and unpredictable
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 77000 km

the Cayenne just had an engine out re-seal + timing chain job, is already deleted, and had the suspension replaced with GTS springs + F/R sway bars and Bilstein B6 at 160K miles.

Pros: suspension replaced, reliable vehicle
Vehicle: Porsche Cayenne
Mileage: 160000 km

In terms of the shocks themselves - Bilstein seem to have a solid reputation except for one former Bilstein fan on Youtube who had multiple failures in fairly quick succession a few years ago. I'm hoping their QA just took a hit for a while and the quality issues have been resolved, what's everyone else's experience of the longevity of these shocks? I doubt they'll hold up as incredibly well as the OEs have but I'd expect five years from them.

Pros: solid reputation
Cons: potential quality issues
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 85000 km

Bilstein Shock absorbers

They’re complete garbage. i had one go bad at 11k. I also had all of them replaced due to the bottoming out issue on my diesel. I couldn’t wait to get them off my Jeep. They last about 20k. Replaced them with Bilstein 5100s.

Cons: complete garbage, go bad
Vehicle: Jeep
Mileage: 11000 km
