bilsteins have better road manners had them on my fj cruiser.
Bilstein 6112/5160 is fairly inexpensive and a popular replacement.
Ive had the same set of KYB Excels on front/rear for the last 70,000mi. They have held up incredibly well. Stiff enough to handle payload but responsive enough to mitigate a pothole on commuter roads. I would buy again, the price is great and they've lasted years.
Kyb are some of the best shocks you can get in terms of quality and lifespan. That being said they’re known for being stiffer. I happen to like it since it minimizes body roll and improves handling. Better loaded performance when towing or hauling heavy too. But you will notice it ride a little harsher.
Seriously though, I have Bilsteins on both my Track Car and my Jeep, and love them.
Bilstein. Worth every penny.
Bilsteins are hands down the best. Well worth the cost.
bilsteins are the best. if I did it over again, I would use bilsteins but they were 3 times the cost
A little build up in a Bilstein is normal.
I had kybs snap off at the weld on one end. Not even doing anything wild, just on the highway. Never buying them again.
