Mann Oil filter

I think the OEM filters are the best there is. Mann Filters – GTI 1.8t (OEM Supplier) • Oil Filter (W 719/30) – 9 micron filtration at 99.5 – 99.9% efficiency - By-pass valve opens at 2.5 bar = 36.3 psi - Cellulose treated with chemical – no fiberglass filters allowed in Germany - Long-life filter – has recently been greatly improved to allow VW/Audi’s extended drain intervals

Pros: best there is, high filtration efficiency
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Part number: W719/30

Mann Oil filter

I only use Mann Oil Filters on my car since 55 miles (currently 68k+). 6000 mile intervals for my Mobil 1 Synthetic oil change. Blackstone Labs recommended I use the oil for even more miles.

Pros: long-term use, good lab results
Mileage: 109435 km

AMSOIL Oil filter

Using Amsoil 10-40 and an Amsoil filter, Blackstone said the oil looked clean and ready to keep going at 5.5k miles. Changed the filter and added a quart to replace what was lost to the test and filter change, and kept running it. They were still happy with the results that came at 10k miles. This test was on a a 93 octane APR 1.8T that's run hard constantly.

Pros: oil looked clean, good results at 10k miles
Mileage: 16093 km

Mann Oil filter

before you go tearing down your engine, go buy a mann filter (has a check valve in it) from a vw parts plce and have your oil changed with detergent oil, i had a bit of carbon build up, did this and solved all my problems.

Pros: solved all my problems
Cons: carbon build up
Vehicle: Volkswagen

AMSOIL Oil filter

I prefer Amsoil and their filter...I drive about 187 miles per day when training and the right oil makes all the difference. I tried Mobile 1 the first time but think Amsoil works better.

Pros: Amsoil works better
Vehicle: Audi A4

Mann Oil filter

Filters: OEM Mann/Mahle/Hengst only Oil: 15w40 winter, 20w50 winter I've never had to replace an oil pump or cam followers(\"lifters\") on any of my cars. VW engines, especially higher-mileage ones, love thicker oil.

Pros: VW engines love thicker oil
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Mann Oil filter

I always use stock VW/Mann oil filters. I think next oil change I'll go with Mobil1 0W-40 instead of Royal Purple 5W-30 and I'll change the oil at 10,000 miles instead of the usual 7,500 with RP.

Vehicle: Volkswagen
