Yeah, the first thing I did was an oil change. I put liqui moly 5w-40 in the car and the oil level is top of the dipstick (EDIT: within the max/min level on the dipstick, top of max, I should specify). I put a Mahle filter in there as well.
I run Castrol Edge 5W-30 with Mahle filters and no stabilazers since I don\u2019t trust that bullshit. Changes every 10,000km and she\u2019s still running beautifully with 205,000km on the clock
+1 on Mobil 1 oil and for the filter Bosch or Mobil 1 extended performance filter (both are about the same cost as OEM, but have better filtering)
I recently installed this canister in my 24v VR6: Better anti-drain back valve in it.
I've always used Castrol bit my buddy swears by Mobil 1. I personally think that most name brand full synthetic oils are pretty similar. Not all filters are created equal though. I like wix xp but Mobil 1 makes great filters too
It's been a year since I changed mine and several thousand kms and I haven't had any warning lights or problems since. I used a Mobil 1 Extended Performance Filter M1C-451.
I'm currently running a Mahle OC75 filter, its easier to get from Amazon, and it is only slightly longer. I go back and forth between 15W50 in the winter and 20W50 in the warmer months. The 15W is synthetic and 20W isn't.
I used to get cheap Mahle oil filters for my K100 on Amazon for $15 or so
I use Mahle filters in both my VR6 and 2.5 from first oil change. No issues.
the bypass valve on the Mobil filter is too low for our engines ~ 15 psi. Mahle/Mann is at ~27 psi. In certain situations, even normal situations, the mobil filter isn't filtering at all
