Oil filter K&N or Wix

Wix Oil filter

Then go buy a Wix. Or go to the dealer. Leave the cheap stuff (and Fram) on the shelf.

Pros: Wix is good
Cons: Fram is cheap

K&N Oil filter

Amsoil and Subaru filters. Other vehicles with horrible oil filter locations I use K&N because I can use a socket to pop them off.

Pros: socket to pop off
Cons: horrible oil filter locations

K&N Oil filter

I'm trying out that Rotella T6 5W-40 some of y'all talk about. Just snagged it off Amazon.

I also use K&N filters cause they've got a 1" nut welded on top.

Pros: 1" nut welded on
Vehicle: Subaru

Wix Oil filter

I would highly recommend Rock auto, there website is simple old school but they are no bs auto parts store and will only show what does fit. They often show the real part your buying (say for tie rod), I've bought thousands of $ of brakes and suspension components over the last 20 yrs and always correct, they often sell OEM parts or the direct suppliers version of OEM which is unique. It will take some time for most of the aftermarket parts for the CX50 but at this point WIX or OEM Mazda are going to be your best bet for oil filters

Pros: reliable parts, correct fitment
Vehicle: Mazda

I also noticed it seems like it made more noise with a K&N oil filter vs Mobil 1 filter.

Pros: quieter with Mobil 1
Cons: more noise with K&N
